Coordination Centre for Effects (CCE)

The CCE is the Programme Centre of the International Cooperative Programme on Modelling and Mapping of Critical Levels and Loads and Air Pollution Effects, Risks and Trends (ICP M&M). ICP M&M is part of the Working Group on Effects (WGE) of the UNECE Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP Convention).

The CCE was established by the Dutch Ministry of the Environment, and began its work in 1990. It is located at the RIVM in Bilthoven, the Netherlands.

The CCE is responsible for the development of modelling methodologies and databases on effects of air pollution (under climate change) on biodiversity in European natural areas, including Natura 2000 sites. Results are successfully used in the integrated assessment of European air pollution agreements.
